Viavélez, in the western part of
Asturias, is a tinny village that grew around an eye-catching
fishing harbour. It is protected by the "Plan Especial
de Protección Integral" (Integral Protection
Special Plan), and still preserves the ssimplicity
of its streets and houses, and beauty of its masonry built
docks, and all this in a peaceful rural and fishing environment
well off the beaten track. |

|
It is two kilometres from La Caridad, the
Concejo’s capital, where everything you might need
for you stay is available (supermarkets, restaurants,
pubs, chemist, surgery…)
Although it is off the beaten track, it is conveniently
situated. The airport of Ranón, and the cities
of Avilés, Gijón and Oviedo are within
an hour’s drive. |
